The lemon drizzle cake waiting for us was a pleasant surprise. Make sure to bring your own sharp knives for the kitchen.

    immaculate environment
    fully equipped kitchen
    limited public transport
    late-night disturbance
    minor annoyance

The lodge offered an immaculate environment, perfect for self-catering with a fully equipped kitchen. The hot tub was a highlight, providing relaxation after exploring scenic areas. Access to local pubs and a Co-op nearby added convenience, although public transport was limited. A minor annoyance was a late-night call about a switch, disrupting an otherwise peaceful stay.

Had a great time chillin' in the huge hot tub while taking in the fine views. The rustic lodge was spotless and boasted all the comforts. Plus, it was wonderful to see the friendly alpacas around!

    clean lodge
    friendly staff
    great hot tub
    awkward checkout

    Amazing stay with fab hosts!

Just spent 4 nights in a lovely lodge. The place was super clean, and the staff were really friendly. We had a nice chat with Diane and Gary, who shared funny stories about past guests. The hot tub was the best part of our stay! Just a bit awkward with checkout, but they were super chill about it.

    cozy atmosphere
    fully equipped
    beautiful views
    outdated facilities
    inconvenient electricity
    extra fees

The lodge had a clean and cozy atmosphere. I loved that the kitchen was fully equipped with all the necessary utensils. The hot tub was fantastic, and my kids had a blast in the indoor pool. The views from the lodge included cute sheep and llamas that added to the idyllic setting. Customer service was on point. Staff were helpful and there when I needed assistance. Some aspects could use improvement. The shower had very low water pressure. The refrigerator emitted a constant loud buzzing noise, quite annoying during the night. The electricity ran on a coin meter, which seemed outdated and inconvenient. The laminated booklet with information felt old and could've used an update. Even though we paid for accommodation, extra charges for accessing amenities like the sauna and pool felt a bit excessive. Despite the drawbacks, we had a great time overall and would consider returning in the future.

It was just a perfect match for a hurried visit in Chipstable with good price value. We enjoyed the home-baked cake that greeted us upon arrival, a lovely touch. Make sure to check out the local pub for some great food.

    accessible paths
    limited mobility

I loved the tranquil environment at Exmoor Gate Lodges, surrounded by beautiful woodland views. The spacious open plan lounge and the well-equipped kitchen.

More accessible walking paths would be beneficial.

    clean lodge
    fully equipped kitchen
    great views
    excessive staff communication
    random late-night calls

The lodge was super comfy! We loved how clean everything was. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed, and it seemed like a home away from home. The hot tub was a highlight for sure, and the views of sheep and llamas outside were a nice touch. Plus, the indoor pool was great for the kids. Parking was easy too. Just a heads up, the staff were a bit too text-happy at times.

Enjoyed a perfect four-night getaway with my family and dogs. The hot tub was a highlight, providing relaxation after exploring charming nearby pubs. The staff were cute, offering helpful local tips. Remember to bring your own condiments, as the kitchen supplies might not suffice!

    fine views

    minor issues

I enjoyed a good stay at Exmoor Gate. The lodge offered a perfect self-catering experience with fine views of sheep and llamas, a clean environment, and a fantastic hot tub. Minor issues with kitchen utensils and the hot tub's chlorine were present, but overall, it was a rejuvenating getaway.

    tranquil setting
    beautiful lodge
    strict hot tub hours
    limited evening use

A beautiful lodge in a tranquil setting, with a clean and cozy atmosphere. The hot tub was a highlight, although it would have been nice to use it later in the evening. A relaxing experience with helpful owners, but the strict hot tub hours were a drawback.
